Runaway

She runs away when her heart feels the fullest

because she somehow can’t seem to fathom

someone ever understanding her mind. She tries

you on like a new shirt and realizes it doesn’t fit

the same as the old one, then she understands

she needs you when she least deserves it. Her

thoughts may be as dark as her hair, but the way

you started to consume her was like a breath of

fresh air. She wants you, but she will not reach

for you. The feeling of never being able to

express how she feels has got her feeling blue,

and there is no breakthrough.
